New Gaming Clan

Hey, me and a bunch of friends just started a new clan for Call of Duty on PS3. When you have a second, check out the site at nwgclan.com. If you'd like to challenge n00bz with gunz, come challenge us on GameBattles.com or just leave a comment on our blogger powered site.

Never though I'd even think of being competitive on a console. A traitor to the keyboard and mouse I guess, LOL.

Restarted, once again.

The "Greg does tech reviews and posts them here" blog is gone. I never felt like putting time into it, promoting it, or really doing anything with it. So now I'll use this space as a good old fashioned personal blog. You know, those things that nobody ever reads, lol. Since I don't have any other posts, lets make this one an all encompassing life update...

I am married! Trish and I were wed on 11/6/09! We have a small party coming up soon to celebrate and we move to our new apartment December 1st. Exciting stuff! We are pretty much ready to move at this point, we have all of our furniture and such, so it's just a waiting game. 20 days and counting!

On the haxor side of things, the only thing I'm focused on now is becoming well versed with the Linux command line (bash shell). I picked up the Linux Phrasebook a little while ago, it's pretty handy. I'd really like to get up to speed in Java and Python, but with all of the getting married and moving stuff I really haven't had the time. Besides, I'm too busy playing...

...PlayStation! I finally broke down and picked up a PS3. I opted for a refurbished 40GB model from GameStop, cheap and I can load Ubuntu on the thing. Just waiting for my HDMI cable to come in the mail. Along with PlayStation, my gaming addiction has returned in the form of Call of Duty: World at War. I've been a big fan of CoD4 and W@W for some time, playing on a friends console a lot. Now I can play online with all of my buddies, it's great. I do miss the keyboard and mouse from my computer gaming years, but I'm getting used to the controller I think. I'm not "going pro", but I'd love to form a real clan and get into some competitive matches. On the PC side, the only thing I'll eventually need is a new computer to play some of the classics on (UT 2004, Quake 3). I'm leaving my old P4/GeForce 6600 rig with my parents, so I'll need a new one. I don't need or want to run Crysis, I just want a powerful Linux box that I can keep my famed FPS skillz sharp with. Can't have a DualShock 3 controller ruining my PC gaming rep ;-)

That's it really. I have an old GamePwned episode from earlier this year that I need to get edited and uploaded. To be honest, it probably won't get done until January, and by then it will be really outdated. There's an idea I was tossing around for doing quick GamePwned episodes with a webcam, but we'll have to see.
